Description:

We are seeking a skilled Lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle maintenance and heavy equipment maintenance, with experience in diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment & trucks. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently as well as part of a team to ensure all equipment is functioning optimally.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including tractors, trailers, loaders, and forklifts.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and troubleshoot problems effectively.
• Conduct brake repairs and alignments to ensure safety and performance standards are met.
• Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment for repair tasks, ensuring proper handling and safety protocols are followed.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service history for all equipment.
• Collaborate with other mechanics and technicians to improve operational efficiency.
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in heavy equipment technology.

Experience

• Proven experience in vehicle maintenance, particularly with heavy construction equipment.
• Familiarity with tractor-trailer systems and operations is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic systems in heavy equipment & commercial vehicles.
• Proficient in using hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and repair techniques specific to heavy equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
